What counts as an "active subscriber"?
An active subscriber is a unique email that is still subscribed to your list and engaging with your sends. Unsubscribed contacts, bounces, and inactive ones don't count toward billing. We count each email once, even if it appears on multiple lists.
What happens if I go past 200 active subscribers on the free plan?
You see the preview of the next plan directly in the dashboard before you cross over. If your list grows beyond 200, you'll move to Essential or Pro, depending on the volume of email you want to send per subscriber. No surprise at the end of the month.
Does the price change as my list grows?
Yes, and the next-tier preview is always visible in the dashboard. You're never surprised at month close. Essential and Pro use subscriber-tier pricing, with the 30% annual discount available at every tier.
Do I need a credit card to start the 15-day trial?
No. The trial unlocks the full Pro for 15 days with no card on file. When the 15 days end, your account moves to the plan that fits your volume, or drops to Free if you're under 200 active subscribers.
What's included in the free migration?
We move your lists, automation flows, and templates from your current platform. We handle DNS setup so deliverability transfers cleanly, and run coaching calls with your team. On paid plans, you also get first-week monitoring of your sends by our team.
How does SMS billing work?
SMS credits are sold in blocks of 1,000 as an add-on to any plan. Pro plans already include 1,000 credits per month at no extra cost. International SMS has variable cost depending on the destination country.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly plans cancel at the end of the billing cycle. Annual plans are paid upfront for the year. If you cancel mid-year, you keep access until the end of the contracted period.
Is support included on the free plan?
Yes. Real people from the SmartrMail team respond on chat during business hours, on both Free and Pro. The same team supports every plan.
